BritCham Chile conducts an activity on the Personal Data Protection Law and its impact on HR.

October 22 ,2025

Santiago, Chile – October 22, 2025. The British-Chilean Chamber of Commerce (BritCham Chile), through its Human Capital Committee, held the activity “Personal Data Protection Law and its Impact on HR” today at the offices of its partner Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos.

During the session, the main aspects of the new Law No. 21,719, which amends Law 19,628 and will come into force in December 2026, were analyzed. It establishes high standards equivalent to European regulations (GDPR). Likewise, the creation of the Personal Data Protection Agency, the associated fines (up to 20,000 UTM or 4% of annual sales revenue), and the implications for the Human Resources department were reviewed.

The meeting featured Ignacia López Vives and Carolina Flisfisch, partners at Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos, who shared their experience and vision on this key issue for labor and organizational management.

The committee also addressed the challenges and opportunities that the #DataProtectionLaw brings to the field of #HumanResources and shared #BestPractices that companies can implement to ensure regulatory compliance and the protection of their employees’ information.

Finally, BritCham Chile invites you to participate in the next session of the Human Capital Committee, where a summary of the year’s work will be provided and the committee’s activities for 2026 will be planned.
