BritCham Chile highlights participation in the first day of the Chile Energy Summit 2025

August 27 ,2025

Santiago, August 27, 2025 – The British-Chilean Chamber of Commerce (BritCham Chile) celebrated the first day of the Chile Energy Summit 2025, an international gathering that has established itself as a strategic space for analyzing, debating, and projecting the energy future of Chile and Latin America.

The summit, held at the Double Tree Santiago Kennedy Hotel, brought together authorities, representatives of multilateral organizations, leading companies, investors, innovation centers, and international experts to discuss the main challenges and opportunities facing the energy sector.

In this edition, Laura Landeta, president of the BritCham Chile Sustainability Committee, participated in the panel “Accelerating Renewable – Grid Integration & Permitting Challenges” alongside representatives from Akuo, JA Solar, AES Andes, and EDP Renewables, moderated by Francisco López, former Undersecretary of Energy and current partner at Jara Del Favero Abogados.

During his intervention, Landeta brought the main concerns and thoughts of BritCham members to the panel, providing content of particular relevance to the institution. In his presentation, he emphasized:

“We need reliable and robust permitting processes that provide certainty to investors and citizens. Furthermore, it would be good to take advantage of the territorial planning discussion currently in Congress to propose relevant adjustments or give the law an operational arm to incorporate these types of considerations,” he noted.

The first day of the Chile Energy Summit 2025 addressed the challenges surrounding the integration of renewable energy and project processing, while the second day—to be held tomorrow, Thursday—will include panels and talks by experts on mining, green hydrogen, and sustainable mobility.

With its participation, BritCham Chile reaffirms its commitment to dialogue, public-private collaboration, and the development of proposals that promote a sustainable, inclusive, and long-term energy transition for Chile and the region.
