The Executive Director of BritCham Chile, Elle Denton, participated last week in the HMG–BritCham Engagement Programme, held in São Paulo, Brazil. This event brought together executive directors of British Chambers of Commerce from Latin America and the Caribbean with representatives of the UK Government.
The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between British Chambers of Commerce in the region and British authorities, promoting the exchange of experiences, the identification of common challenges, and the generation of new opportunities to support British companies with a presence or interest in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The agenda included working sessions focused on defining collaboration priorities, sharing best practices, and exploring mechanisms to strengthen the impact of the British Chambers of Commerce network at the regional level. A special edition of the Great British Business Club (GBBC) was also held, bringing together representatives from 12 British Chambers of Commerce in the region in a space dedicated to networking and exchanging business opportunities.
BritCham Chile extends its sincere gratitude to Amy Barklam, HM Trade Commissioner for Latin America and the Caribbean, for the invitation to this meeting, which reaffirmed the importance of a regional perspective for boosting trade, investment, and cooperation between Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom.
Among the key takeaways of the day was the growing need to approach Latin America from a regional perspective, recognizing the role of British Chambers of Commerce as facilitators of collaborative networks and drivers of business development across different markets.
In this context, Chile continues to solidify its position as one of the most open and stable markets in the region, as well as a strategic platform for British companies seeking to expand their presence in Latin America and the Caribbean. BritCham Chile’s participation in this meeting reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the regional network and generating new opportunities for its members and the business community connected to the United Kingdom.
