Santiago, April 2, 2025 – The Chilean-British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham Chile) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chair for its Education Committee, marking the beginning of a new leadership cycle focused on innovation, inter-institutional collaboration, and the promotion of bilingualism as a tool for transformation.
After an outstanding term of service, Lyllian Turri of Cambridge steps down from her role, having led the Committee with dedication and strategic vision. Her leadership was instrumental in positioning the Committee as a key reference in the field of binational education. She played a vital role in driving initiatives such as the Annual Bilingual Education Conference, the development of working groups with academic institutions, and the promotion of best practices in teacher training.
As of this month, Dalinda Pérez-Álvares, representative of the University of Edinburgh, assumes the presidency of the BritCham Chile Education Committee. With a solid background in the education sector and a forward-looking approach to the challenges faced by both school and higher education systems in a globalized world, the new Chair aims to strengthen ties between academia and the business sector, promoting initiatives focused on educational quality, 21st-century skill development, and inclusive learning environments.
“We embrace this responsibility with great enthusiasm and a strong belief in education as a transformative force. Our goal is to continue strengthening collaborative work among institutions, generating spaces for dialogue and knowledge-sharing that contribute to holistic and relevant education for future generations,” said Dalinda Pérez-Álvares.
BritCham Chile extends its sincere gratitude to Lyllian Turri for her valuable contributions and leadership, and offers its full support to the new presidency. The Chamber reaffirms its commitment to fostering initiatives and platforms that enrich the educational debate from a diverse, inclusive, and forward-thinking perspective.
