The Technology, Innovation and Sciences Committee (CTIC) of the British Chilean Chamber of Commerce held its annual year-end meeting on 10 December, where it consolidated key insights from 2025, strengthened the committee’s governance structure, and approved an ambitious work agenda for 2026.
Under the leadership of Joanna Pérez (Chair), together with Gustavo Vieira (Vice-Chair, CMPC) and Francisco Medina (Technical Secretary, GTQ Consulting), the committee validated a roadmap that prioritises the country’s most pressing technological challenges and promotes collaborative work across the private sector, academia and public institutions.
Santiago, 5 November 2025 – The British Chilean Chamber of Commerce (BritCham Chile), through its Technology, Innovation & Science Committee, convened a targeted forum titled “Intelligent Transport: Technology, Data and Sustainability for the Mobility of the Future”, assembling senior voices from government, academia and industry to deliberate the technological and data-driven pathways for sustainable urban mobility in Chile.
Moderated by Joanna Pérez, President of BritCham’s Technology, Innovation & Science Committee, the conversation featured a keynote with Alejandro Schmidt, Chief Technology Officer at Chile’s Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications. The session focused on the role of technology, data governance and public–private collaboration in delivering efficient, inclusive and low-emission transport systems.
Santiago, Chile – 8 October 2025. The British Chilean Chamber of Commerce (BritCham Chile), through its Technology, Innovation and Science Committee, held an in-person conversation on “Open Finance and Fintech: Present and Future in Chile”, bringing together public and private sector representatives to discuss the regulatory, technological, and market evolution driving financial innovation in the country.

A joint activity between the Technology, Innovation and Science Committee and the Legal Committee, which will address technological advances in this field.
This discussion will focus on the growing importance of technologies in the protection of personal data in a context marked by the imminent entry into force of Chile’s new Personal Data Protection Framework Law. We will analyze how technological tools—such as encryption, access management, the use of intelligent firewalls, and cybersecurity training—are key to regulatory compliance and the prevention of security breaches in public and private organizations, especially SMEs.
Against a backdrop of rapid technological advancement and a pressing need for regulatory frameworks, the British Chilean Chamber of Commerce (BritCham Chile), through its Committee on Technology, Innovation and Science (CTI), held the discussion panel “Changing the Game: Generative Artificial Intelligence in Today’s World.” The event took place at BritCham Chile’s offices in Las Condes and gathered representatives from the public, academic, and corporate spheres to reflect on the impact of Generative AI (GAI) on society, industry, and public policy.
With a strong turnout of representatives from both the public and private sectors, the presentation titled “The Role of the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANCI) in a Digital World” was held, led by Daniel Álvarez Valenzuela, the first Director of the recently established National Cybersecurity Agency. The event took place at the offices of the Chilean-British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham), located at Av. El Bosque Norte 0125, Las Condes, and was moderated by Joanna Pérez, Chair of the Chamber’s Committee on Technology, Innovation, and Science.
