The second session of the year of the Legal Committee brought together BritCham members and tax experts to gain an in-depth understanding of the main aspects of this legislative initiative promoted by the Executive Branch.

BritCham Chile held the second activity of the year for its Legal Committee, an event that convened Chamber members to analyze the meaning and main scope of the National Reconstruction Bill, an initiative that seeks to strengthen investment, promote economic growth, and generate new opportunities for the country’s development.

The session featured a presentation by Sebastián Vallebona, Tax Policy Coordinator at the Ministry of Finance, who outlined the main aspects of the legislative proposal and addressed topics such as the gradual reduction of the First Category Tax (IDPC), the reintegration of the tax system, the tax stability regime for investors, and the tax credit for wages paid to employees of companies that provide knowledge services in the digital economy.

The event was moderated by Franco Acchiardo, Vice President of BritCham’s Legal Committee, and also featured presentations by Benjamín Barros, Partner of Tax and Legal Services at PwC Chile; Santiago Martínez, Partner at Morales & Besa; and Cristóbal Cibie, Legal Director of Clyde & Co Chile, who shared their perspectives and comments on the implications of this proposal for the business environment.

The session took place at the offices of PwC Chile, a BritCham member, and provided a valuable forum for analysis and the exchange of ideas among authorities, specialists, and representatives of member companies, who were able to delve into the potential effects of this bill on the tax system and investment in Chile.
