The initiative, developed jointly by the Chilean-British Chamber of Commerce and the British Embassy in Chile, brings together leading British companies showcasing innovative solutions for the future of mining.

With an opening ceremony held in Antofagasta, British participation in EXPONOR 2026 officially began through UKGreatZone, a space promoted by the Chilean-British Chamber of Commerce and the British Embassy in Chile. This initiative aims to strengthen trade and collaboration between the two countries in strategic sectors such as mining, energy, and innovation.

EXPONOR, considered one of the most important mining trade shows in Latin America, brings together companies, suppliers, authorities, and industry representatives from various countries, establishing itself as a key platform for generating business, exchanging knowledge, and promoting new technologies for the sector.

The inauguration of the British pavilion was attended by the UK Ambassador to Chile, David Concar, and the President of the Senate, Paulina Núñez, who emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation between Chile and the UK in the areas of innovation, sustainability, and productive development.

During the event, attendees enjoyed a traditional Scottish bagpipe performance and participated in a Whisky Tasting & Quiz, an activity that introduced visitors to British culture.

UKGreatZone features prominent companies such as Aggreko, UMS, Watson-Marlow, and JCB, which will be showcasing their products, services, and innovative solutions at EXPONOR 2026 to address the current and future challenges of the mining industry. Their participation reflects the UK’s commitment to developing technologies that promote more efficient, safe, and sustainable mining.

British innovation is a central focus of the offerings presented at the fair. Through advanced technologies, productivity-oriented solutions, and sustainability-focused tools, participating companies aim to contribute to the development of a more competitive mining sector, while also facilitating knowledge transfer and strengthening collaboration between the two countries.

Ambassador David Concar also met with the Undersecretary of Mining, Álvaro González, to discuss the main challenges and opportunities facing the mining industry. During the meeting, the United Kingdom’s willingness to continue collaborating with Chile through innovation, technology, and best practices that contribute to the development of a more efficient, sustainable, and competitive mining sector was emphasized.

British participation in EXPONOR 2026 reaffirms the United Kingdom’s commitment to the development of the Chilean mining sector and to promoting strategic alliances that drive innovation, investment, and the industry’s sustainable growth.
