Human Capital Committee addresses the impact of AI on outplacement and training

March 19 ,2026

Today, Thursday 19 March, the Chilean-British Chamber of Commerce held a new session of its Human Capital Committee, titled “Outplacement and Training in the Age of AI”, bringing together members to explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence on recruitment, employability and career transition.

The session featured presentations by Hernán Bezamat and Carolina Hörmann, Directors of O4 Outplacement, whom we sincerely thank for their outstanding contribution. During their presentation, they examined the key challenges facing talent management, highlighting the widening gap between professionals’ skills and the evolving demands of the labour market, as well as the increasing use of AI-powered tools by job candidates and their impact on recruitment and selection processes.

The discussion also covered best practices on what to embrace—and what to avoid—throughout the recruitment process, together with the increasingly important role Artificial Intelligence plays across the entire talent acquisition cycle. Another key topic was the significance of the hidden job market, where nearly 80% of employment opportunities are generated through professional networks, reinforcing the importance of developing effective networking and employability strategies.

Against the backdrop of rapid technological transformation, the session provided a valuable forum for strategic discussion on how organisations can anticipate these changes by adapting their training programmes and strengthening their talent attraction and development strategies.

The next Human Capital Committee session will take place on 9 April, when members will explore the latest trends in human resources together with PwC.
