The British-Chilean Chamber of Commerce (BritCham Chile) held a new session of its Human Capital Committee this Wednesday, focusing on Real-World Use Cases of Artificial Intelligence in Human Resources. This session analyzed the opportunities and challenges this technology poses for people management.
The event featured presentations by Romina Aguilera, Senior Manager of People Advisory Services at EY, and Nicolás Alarcón, Senior Consultant in AI for HR at EY, who shared reflections and concrete experiences on the impact of AI on workplace practices. During the session, it was highlighted that AI can create content, generate ideas, converse naturally, and support decisions; however, the importance of the human role in supervising, adjusting, and protecting, thus ensuring ethics, confidentiality, and organizational culture, was underscored.
The British Chilean Chamber of Commerce (BritCham Chile), through its Human Capital Committee, hosted an insightful session on “AI in the Workplace and its Impact on Human Resources”, held at PwC Chile’s offices in Las Condes.
The activity featured Roberto Guldenaar, Manager of Digital and Artificial Intelligence at PwC Chile’s Technology team, who delivered a presentation on how Generative AI, advanced analytics and digital transformation are reshaping the future of human capital management. The session was opened by Christian Blanchard, Human Capital Director of PwC, who highlighted the Chamber’s commitment to providing members with strategic insights on emerging technologies.

The Chilean-British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham Chile) held a new session of its Human Capital Committee today, focusing on key topics related to training and the use of the tax exemption system as a development tool for individuals and organizations.
The session featured presentations by María Gabriella Battaini, Director of Adecco Training Chile, and Marcela Lorenzo, Business Manager at Just4U, who shared their insights and experience regarding the mission of the National Training and Employment Service (SENCE) and its main instruments: training programs, tax exemption system, and employment subsidies—all aimed at improving individual employability and enhancing business productivity.
The Human Capital Committee of BritCham Chile held the session “Diversity and Inclusion from a Labor Relations Perspective” to promote inclusive workplace cultures. Jaime Parada (Equalite Partner) and Carolina González (Inchcape Chile) addressed national and global challenges in diversity, highlighting the cultural tensions between traditional perceptions and evolving organizational models. They emphasized the importance of empathy, respect, and inclusive HR policies in adapting to social, legislative, and technological changes. BritCham Chile reaffirmed its commitment to fostering equitable work environments and will continue supporting dialogue and best practices to strengthen corporate inclusion and sustainability.
Santiago, January 9, 2025 – In a key event for the evolution of organizational culture in Chile, the Chilean-British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham) held the first meeting of the year of its Human Capital Committee, titled “Culture of Respect: A Positive Framework for the Karin Law.” The session brought together experts and professionals from the sector to discuss the impact and implementation of the new legislation, aiming to transform labor relations toward a model based on respect and equity.
Held at BritCham Chile’s offices, the event featured Equalité consultants Jaime Parada and Marcelo Torrealba, who presented an innovative perspective on the Karin Law, emphasizing its cultural dimension beyond legal compliance.

On Thursday, October 10, a key event was held at the Morales & Besa offices, focused on the Karin Law, a regulation that introduces significant changes in the framework of the prevention and management of complaints in companies. This workshop was aimed at professionals in the legal and human resources area, who seek to align themselves with the new legal requirements and strengthen their prevention strategies and management of internal investigations.
The main speakers at the event were Claudia Sarmiento, partner at SWG, and Valentina Morales, partner at Morales & Besa, both leading experts in labor law and corporate regulations. Her experience provided valuable perspective to attendees, who actively participated in the discussion on best practices for implementing Karin’s Law.
Last Thursday, August 29 at 4:00 p.m., an informative talk titled “New Karin Law: Scope and Challenges for Companies” was held, organized by the Legal Committee and the Human Capital Committee of the British Chilean Chamber of Commerce. . The event had Senator Matías Walker as speaker and guest of honor and took place at the Guerrero Olivos Offices and had the participation of prominent professionals and experts in labor law.
Taller Práctico sobre la Implementación de la Ley de 40 Horas con Enfoque en el Artículo 22
El 25 de abril de 2024, el Comité de Capital Humano de la Cámara Chileno Británica de Comercio (BritCham) organizó un taller práctico sobre la implementación de la Ley de 40 horas, con un enfoque especial en el Artículo 22. Este evento tuvo lugar en las oficinas de Cariola Diez Pérez Cotapos, contando con la participación de Ignacia López, socia de Cariola y presidenta del Comité, junto con Brenda Herrera, Gerente General de Adecco, como expositoras invitadas.
