With a strong turnout of members, BritCham Chile held the first meeting of the year for its Finance and Capital Markets Committee. The meeting, which took place at the offices of our member HSBC, featured the participation of Mayor Jaime Bellolio.
The session was led by Committee Chairman Pierre Julien Loriquet and Vice Chairman José Miguel Diez, who opened a discussion focused on the main challenges and opportunities facing the Providencia district.
During the session, the Mayor addressed various issues related to the district’s cross-cutting nature and the impact of its significant transient population, analyzing how these factors influence urban planning, security, and territorial development in Providencia.
The importance of strengthening green spaces and advancing initiatives to ensure a safer nightlife for residents and visitors was also emphasized. Along the same lines, aspects related to the municipality’s income and expenses were addressed, as well as the need to promote policies aimed at protecting and supporting the large number of senior citizens living alone in the area.
The event provided a valuable space for dialogue and the exchange of perspectives between authorities and representatives of the private sector, reaffirming BritCham Chile’s commitment to promoting discussions on key issues for the development of cities and the country’s economic environment.
